Volunteer opportunities
APS is seeking individuals to fill board positions for the coming year starting
in September 2010.
Elections will be held at the May 2010 meeting.
Vacancies to fill:
OFFICERS. Commitment of one year is expected and attendance at meetings.
- President - leadership skills and ability to chair meetings
- Vice President - leadership skills and ability to chair meetings
- Secretary - ability to take minutes of meetings and organizational
skills
- Treasurer - experience with book keeping is preferred, use of
electronic spreadsheets
DIRECTORS. Commitment of two years is expected and attendance at meetings.
- Editor - prepare, publish and distribute the quarterly APS
Bulletin, prepare the Annual Symposium abstract volume
- Membership - update the membership register, use of electronic
database
- Field Trip Coordinator - organize and conduct summer field trips
including preparation of a fieldtrip guide and arranging land access
COMMITTEES
Members that are interested in any committee positions should speak with a member of the board.
These positions are filled throughout the year as openings arise. There is no minimum/maximum term
requirement and attendance of board meetings is optional.
